Medicare PPS and Consolidated Billing for SNFs for FY 2008 CMS issued its final rule for FY 2008 SNF PPS rates. In addition, the final rule revises and rebases the SNF market basket, and modifies the threshold for the adjustment to account for market basket forecast error. Rates are effective Oct 1, 2007. FY 2007 Prospective Payment System and Consolidated Billing for Skilled Nursing Facilities--Update--Notice
On July 27, 2006, CMS proposed a 3.1 percent increase in Medicare payment rates to HHAs for calendar year 2007. The proposed increase would bring an estimated extra $420 million in payments to HHAs next year. As part of this proposed rule, CMS is implementing pay-for-reporting provisions of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005. View rule. In addition, CMS proposed changes to Medicare payment for oxygen equipment and capped rental durable medical equipment (DME) due to the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that its contingency plan for the HIPAA compliant transaction 835, or Electronic Remittance Advice, will expire on October 1, 2006.
